My husband and i have been happily married 16 yrs and make love 10 to 12 times a month its very satisfying and enough for both of us but my best friend said that amount a month is way below average is she right?

who the hell puts a number limit or under limit on a husband and wife havuing sex? As long as they are happy, doing their thing and enjoying each other, who cares how many times

First of all, that amount of times isn't below average, it's average. Secondly, why should it matter to you what she thinks ? Thirdly, why even put a measure on your sex life ? So long as you and your husband are enjoying the sex, and are happy with the quality and quantity, that's all that matters.
So, if you have sex once a year or once a day, so long as you're both happy with it, then that's all that matters.
P.S. You might want to keep your sex life to yourself, and not share it with your best friend who doesn't know any better !!

The AVERAGE is 2-3 times per week (or 8-12 times per month). Your friend is an idiot. If you and your husband are satisfied with your sex life, then good for you. Your friend doesn't need to be sticking her nose into your private affairs.

Don't listen to your friend. That is stupid all that matters is that you and your husband are satisfied with your relationship. I think it sounds like a lot. I have been with my man for 1 yr, we have sex about 8-10 times a mth and both of us are very satisfied.

Was your friend a statistics major in college? My guess, no. Why does she care anyway? Two times a week and you have been married for 16 years - I would say you are doing better than most would like to admit. Besides, it is not the quantity, it's the quality. Just tell her you are having better sex than the majority.

I'm lucky if I'll see 10 to 12 times in a year. Marriage ruined my sex life, so don't ask me for my opinion.

As long as you're happy with how many times and he is what the hell does it matter what your nympho friend thinks. If she is married and has sex more than that then neither of them most have jobs, children, or a life.

You have answered your own question when you said that it is "very satisfying and enough for both of you". Never discuss frequency or intense details of your intamate life with your spouse with anyone other then your spouse & a counselor if applicable.

Who cares. If it works for you and your hubby then it's fine. If he's not looking elsewhere and neither are you - then I'd say you're just right.
I think the average, honest average is only once a week.

No that's even high I'd say. Talking to most people it seems after that long a marrage, once a week seems to be the norm, and for some, once a week would be an improvment.
