Terms of Endearment, definitely!
It related to my life in the fact that I know people who have had children die. Thank goodness, not myself, but my heart goes out to those who have. This movie taught me that my children did satisfy my life and that I was happy with them. That was a true awakening for me, because I wasn't ever satisfied with them- in the way of doing things right. I always had some criticism for them. Not anymore! I praise them all the time now. I laughed and cried during this film. I can watch it anytime, and it never gets old to me. Great acting, and some great lines in this movie. I know it's an oldie, but then again, so am I. If I had to be reincarnated with a fictional character, then it would be Aurora Greenway.

I love the movie "Excalibur" - a King Aurthur movie done in the early 80s.
For some reason, this movie really brought the whole legend to life for me. I sat down to watch it during a time when I was questioning life...(like is that all there is)?
I can not explain it - but the movie made me laugh (Merlin), cry (when the king dies) ,scared (there were some scary parts) and I even loved the sound track - especially for the battle scenes!
It taught me a part of history that I kinda ignored growing up (I was a Star Trek fan and more future orientated).
The movie really opened up my soul and my imagination. Since viewing the movie for the first time in 1991, it has set me on a life long quest to seek out all things medieval...
An adventure I have yet to regret, as I am still exploring all the possibilities!

The Illusionist. It teaches you that there is more to life than meets the eye, and to always keep trying and do what you want to do. It's a serious movie about a magician, but it really makes you think: what is reality and can you trust it.

Because my father and mother separated when I was a small child and I remember so well the heart break of missing my father. Of course this movie made me cry.

My very favorite movie of all time is The Wizard of Oz. It didn't relate to my life at all, until I met my mother-in-law. Then I realized she was the true wicked witch of the west! =)

the divine secrets of the yaya sisterhood cuz it so relates to being raised in the south by people who spanked their children before it was against the law and it represents the true kookiness of the southern loonies--which we all know are a true fact of life

If I could only choose one film, I'd choose "The Princess Bride". It has a little bit of everything, is suitable for all ages, and never gets old.
