My front left wheel of my car is making clicking rattling noises and it gets worst as it goes over bumps. Also when I press on the gas pump or step on the break pad it makes a thump noise. Is it safe to drive?

I think it could be the Struts, Mount or CV Joints can anyone please help and also tell me where they recommend to get the car fix in NY area.

My 2002 Camry had problems with the front right suspension 2 years ago that sounds similar to the problem u experience. It took 3 trips to the repair shop and speaking to the service manager to get the problem fixed. Perseverance payed off and an experienced mechanic found the problem. I think the problem was in the way the strut was mounted , but it turned out to be a very simple repair. The mechanic rode with me and when I heard the noise I said "That's it!" I would recommend taking it to an authorized Toyota service dept. Maybe the same thing will help you....Good luck!

You have a bad CV joint. Usually a joint boot tears or is cut allowing the special joint grease to fly out plus let dirt and moisture in. Any competent independent automotive repair shop can replace the whole half shaft. There are two of these on your Camry one each for the individual front wheels. I would recommend replacing one entire half shaft because you get two new rebuilt CV joints covered with boots and an axle.
Bu the time you purchase one CV joint alone and have it installed on your axle the extra labor involved will pay for a re-manufactured half shaft. Less labor is involved by replacing the entire half shaft. Do not go to Toyota for this part. You'll be facing hundreds of dollars. NAPA, Car Quest, Auto Zone, Pep Boys, Auto Barn, and National Auto will have this part in stock for $60. - $65.00. Have your wheel bearings inspected while the joint has been removed.

A bad wheel bearing makes a humming noise with a slight vibration while being driven.

Sounds like the CV joint is bad with the clicking noise your hearing.

And the thump could be a bad sway bar link.

It is the cvc joints and not exactly safe to drive the parts run about $250 to $300 Sorry I am from Texas so I don't know of any reputable places in NY. But they should charge you in the neighbor hood of $600 for parts and labor. Best of luck and be safe.
