Whenever they tamper with our constitutional rights. Especially the first or second amendment.

When it becomes clear that the government is unresponsive to the needs of its citizens, is overwhelmingly corrupt, ignores the rule of law, and attempts to install itself as a permenant power lord.

Right now all those attributes can be found in both parties to a large extent. For example, the Republicans are ignoring their Constitutional duty and ignoring the rule of law by not enforcing the immigration laws. The Democrats are guilty of the same thing. Both parties have taken campaign donations from illegal and questionable sources. Both parties, while claiming the moral and legal high ground, are thick with corruption and illeagal actions. Democrats will point to former congressman Randall Cunningham and Republicans can point to current congressman William Jefferson.

As it stands right now the USA should have been in a civil war over 15 years ago.

Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. Rev. 13:16-18 "

"Prudence, indeed,
will dictate that Governments long established
should not be changed for light and
transient Causes; and accordingly all Experience
hath shewn, that Mankind are more disposed to
suffer, while Evils are sufferable, than to right
themselves by abolishing the Forms to which they
are accustomed. But when a long Train of Abuses
and Usurpations, pursuing invariably the same
Object, evinces a Design to reduce them under
absolute Despotism, it is their Right, it is their
Duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide
new Guards for their future Security."

History has taught us that oppression and poverty always lead to the overthrow of unjust government .Look at Britains civil war ,the American revolution the russians and the chinese failed by replacing one oppressor for another as Teheran will eventually discover.Nobody with freedom and a full belly ever feels like revolution.

I don't think this question really matters...all Liberals are "peace loving" and for gun control...and you can not over throw a government with words...you would have to have the Military behind you, which the Democrats and Liberals do not even come close to having...your biggest concern should be if Hilary gets elected, or some other ultra Liberal, President...because like I said, a Coup is not won by words...

If bush tried to put this country under Martial Law I would go after him in a heartbeat. My constitution says!

Art.] 10. [Right of Revolution.] Government being instituted for the common benefit, protection, and security, of the whole community, and not for the private interest or emolument of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, whenever the ends of government are perverted, and public liberty manifestly endangered, and all other means of redress are ineffectual, the people may, and of right ought to reform the old, or establish a new government. The doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power, and oppression, is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.

I think it would require a hopelessness in the voting system. It would require a near complete Christian Right majority in the Congress, courts and executive, for several consecutive elections, and the eroding of rights that would result. I would work to overthrow only if I felt there was little or no hope for a re balancing of the system.
