When I was seven I came close to dying in a near drowning. I was under the water so long I lost consciousness.

I was found and dredged out and given mouth-to-mouth.

And when I was coming back into awareness ... before I could remember my name ... before I could even make the thought, "Oh, this means I didn't die" ... I was in absolute awe at the fact that anything at all existed.

The words I have for that aren't even grammatical:

"to know like love like what it is to be"

I was in pain ... even vomiting through my mouth and nose (sorry to be gross!) ... but I wasn't suffering. Pain, too, was just another amazing thing to feel. I was absolutely in wonder and a kind of profound, silent joy.

I know that any moment can potentially be like that, but most of the time, of course, I am too preoccupied in more petty interests and concerns.

I get glimpses of that sometimes when I am waking up from sleep. Like very, very SOBER.

I also do lots of meditation, which contributes to being able to feel that way.

After a long day at work, I'm most happiest when I go home and take a long, hot bath, with my calming candles right by my side.

When I go away from the every day "rat race" and escape to a place where nothing can bother me. I get that feeling when we're driving somewhere far away and I look out the car window and see the beautifull untouched bushveld and wild, you know, the open road. I often day dream as I look onto the hills and brown landscape. I just love the outdoor bushveld and having a braai with mates and enjoying the laughter and peacefull surroundings. aaaah...

It's a beautiful day the sun is shining, I feel good, nothing is gonna stop me now.
Although that is a line from a Queen song.
Gosh there are so many options here, so I will stick with one - Looking out of the window at work when the sky is bright and blue sky with white fluffy clouds.

Standing in the middle of the woods looking up thru the trees seeing the sunlight trickling thru the trees. And hearing the animals shuffling and the birds singing. Smelling the green of the forest. Very peaceful.

On a Friday night, when I get home from work, kick my shoes off, eat my pizza and have a few beers then cuddle up on the sofa with my boyfriend, a good movie and a bag of kettle crisps! Perfect!
