You sound like you are not really sure of the neighbor. At least this is the impression I get.
i think that having lessons in self defense are wonderful - it give a child confidence that they can be in control of a situation. It also builds up their confidence.
There are many dangerous people in the world and it is essential that a person can defend themselves if the need arises.
I would see about taking her to a good karate school or some sort of martial arts school. Talk to the instructor and see if you can possibly observe a class or two. There are usually a beginners class followed by an advanced class.
My son was a 1st degree brown belt by the time he was in 6th grade!!!!!!He was a real natural at it.
Good luck with what ever you decide to to.

I would say NO just because the fact that you're asking this, indicates some kind of alarm bell has gone off within yourself, even subconsciously. It's not to say the guy isn't trustworthy, but something is causing you to question this.
To keep things on the safe side I'd say no.

unless it is at a karate studio with others
so if it is not then now way

I would never do that, it WILL lead to trouble

send her to a proper karate school, where there will be others a round

if its a guy, NO, u hear 2 many stories about parents trusting friends and it going wrong, if its a woman then yes
