Ya fantastic group i saw them live at the Albert Hall in the early 70's I still play their music today transferred all the vinyl onto my mp3 player. The first album is fantastic also listen to the stuff that John Fogerty recorded after the band split up. Another band of the same period you should check out is Canned Heat...

John Fogerty is one of the more underrated song writers of his generation.
There is a group that tours under the name Credence Clearwater Revisited...but sadly JF isn't part of the group. Lead guitar and vocals are handled by Elliott Easton (formerly of The Cars).
If you like the songs it might still be worth a look.

Yes - they were cool - before my time but really cool. Favourite tune is Bad Moon Rising
I see the bad moon arising.
I see trouble on the way.
I see earthquakes and lightning.
I see bad times today.
CHORUS:
Don't go around tonight,
Well, it's bound to take your life,
There's a bad moon on the rise.
I hear hurricanes ablowing.
I know the end is coming soon.
I fear rivers over flowing.
I hear the voice of rage and ruin.
CHORUS
All right!
Hope you got your things together.
Hope you are quite prepared to die.
Looks like we're in for nasty weather.
One eye is taken for an eye.
CHORUS
CHORUS

One of the all-time great American rock and roll bands. Plenty of number one songs and catchy tunes, most everyone has heard one or two. Also known for their internal squabbling (especially between the Fogerty brothers) and their battles with their record companies. I love 'em. I'd recommend getting their greatest hits cd, it has a ton of good music. Peace.
