My weird ex-sister-in-law kicked out her 10 year old daughter, late one night. She didn't need a reason. My niece had enough for a phone call to me. She spent the next 3 months living with us until she returned home. She's grown up now, but I still picture that scared, crying kid, huddled in a phone booth with plastic bags containing her belongings. I could never ever throw a kid out

Never. It's immoral and also illegal. The parent or guardian is responsible for the care and safety of a minor, so the authorities would get involved if they found out about it. It also shows total lack of maturity on the part of the parents!

Nah I do what my parents did to me and my brother shipped me off to catholic boarding school in another country and him to military school. We weren't bad though....they thought it would be the best for us.
