It means that he is tired of feeling rejected in life. Edward Norton's character is never identified, but he often refers to himself as "Jack."

His character is identified, but I can't remember his name. The whole Jack thing is from the stories he found in the abandoned house that the previous owner had written. I AM Jack's Spleen, I Am Jack's Lower Intestine... The inflamed sense of rejection just expresses his frustration with always being second best to Tyler...which is weird after you read or see the whole thing.

So far the previous answers are incorrect. Edward Nortons character has no identity what so ever till u find out he actually is Tyler Durdin. Even the script Edward Norton read for the movie had no name for his character.
That line comes from an article they found in a Readers Digest in the abandoned house. It portrays stories in the first person of peoples body organs, then the people are given random names. ( Bill, John, etc. It actually is based on a real Readers Digest column that used to run and the real thing was going to be used in the movie, but they came up with their own stories similar to the originals amid protests.) Jack is just something they came up with that is random and fake and used over and over again like he is reading the Readers Digest still. (Eventually the script Edward Norton read for the part was given the name Jack because they had no idea what else to call him. You cant read a script with 2 Tyler Durdins !!) But the name Jack really has no correlation between Edward Norton or Tyler Durdin at all. Just fictitious writing. So Jack is just a random repeated name supposedly from the Readers Digest, and inflamed sense of rejection is just a phrase thats substituted for a body part.
Tyler Durdin is just relating his feelings he feels in the form of the goofy Readers Digest!!!

He was incredibly jealous of Jared Leto's character. He felt like Tyler was replacing him. "Jack" is him talking about himself... it is also how they identified his character in the script... he was never identified in the film... he had many fake names rupert, cornelius and finally Tyler....

It is more complicated because Tyler was really him and he was essentially jealous of himself... but this was how he finally discovered that Tyler and him were the same person. The loss of Tyler as a constant made him seek him out... following him he discovered who he was... TYLER DURDEN!.
