Contrary to what some people have been telling you, there is not and has never been a hotel in the Castle. There is a new suite that can be won as part of the Year of a Million Dreams celebration that is ongoing. Speculation is that after the celebration ends, it will still be a long while before the suite is available to the general public to book.

There is a restaurant, described earlier, Cinderella's Royal Table. It gets booked 180 days in advance, and is practically impossible to get into. See here:http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm#mk

There are a couple of shops, one is going to close to move in the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for girls to get princess hair and makeup done.

There are some beautiful mosiacs telling the story of Cinderella that you can see as you walk through. Neat to stop and look at.

Cinderella's Castle is a number of things:

At the top of the castle is a suite (yes, there is ONLY ONE)that they originally built for Walt Disney and his family, but as of Jan 2007 the suite was used as a prize for the Disney Dreams Giveaway at the Walt Disney World Resort during the Year Of A Million Dreams Celebration (which you may have heard of). The winners get to spend a night in the castle. ***You may want to check out the awesome video that shows the inside of the suite! It's amazing!***

Towards the middle of the castle is a restaurant called Cinderella's Royal Table. You have to use the stairs (or one of the 3 elevators) in the castle to go up there.

At the bottom of the castle (which you can walk to on solid ground), there is a gallery called the King's Gallery (maybe also be called the Art of Disney?) which has many pieces of amazing artwork.

And of course, all around the castle there are many walls that have beautiful and colorful mosaics on them, which of course are about the theme of Cinderella.

There is a restaurant on the second floor of the castle. I believe it's called Cinderella's Royal Table. It's a character meal with most of the princesses, etc. However, you have to get the reservations 60 days in advance. if you call at 55 days before, you'll be really lucky to get in, especially depending on the season.

As for there being a hotel, that's not ture. However, there is a suite in the castle. It was originally supposed to be an apartment for the Disney family, but Walt died before the opening of the park and the project was dumbed. Recently, they decided to go back up and turn it into a suite to use as a prize for families during their current celebration.

there has always been a restaurants. its now called "Cinderella's Royal Table." and it is probably the most difficult restaurant to get into on Disney property. it mostly character meals (at least for breakfast and lunch... not sure about dinner) and its not very big. the only way to get into the restaurant is to make reservations way in advance. there is also a small store that will be closing and turned into a kids beauty shop (there little girls can be made up to look like princesses. and just recently they build a suite into the castle. at this time there is no way to rent that suite. you can only win a stay there. the suite was originally going to be an apartment for Walt Disney and his family but he died before the park was built. since it was already in the blue prints, they just kept it and it was used for storage for many years. hope that answers you question.

Last time I checked, there were just some gift shops. But now they've revealed that there is an apartment in the castle that Walt Disney was going to be living in with his family, but never got the chance to. There are also some theories as to what may also be in the castle or under it...but this is what is definitely true.

In honor of Walt Disney World's 25th Anniversary, Cinderella Castle was transformed into a giant pink castle cake (known by some as the "cakestle"), decorated with gum drops, Life Savers, lollipops and red candy hearts. The castle cake reigned for 15 months, from October1, 1996, through January 31, 1998. At the conclusion of the 25th Anniversary Celebration, Cinderella Castle was transformed back to its original traditional blue-and-gold-spired, storybook splendor.

Prior to April 28, 1997, Cinderella's Royal Table was called King Stefan’s Banquet Hall, which opened with Cinderella Castle on October 1, 1971. Walt Disney Imagineers had wanted to give the restaurant a regal name, and since there were no well-known characters from "Cinderella" that met their criteria, they instead took a little dramatic license and chose the name of Sleeping Beauty's father King Stefan.

The columns situated in the walkways that curve around either side of the forecourt to Cinderella Castle are decorated with mice and birds from the Disney animated feature film "Cinderella." The characters were sculpted by Blaine Gibson, who also sculpted the "Partners" statue on Main Street, U.S.A. and the Cinderella Wishing Well statue located on the walkway between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.

There are more than 40 coats of arms on display inside Cinderella's Royal Table restaurant. Each coat of arms refers to someone who has played a significant role in the heritage and history of the Walt Disney Company. These are just some of the noteworthy Disney people whose family names are represented: Roger Broggie, Sr.; Marc Davis; Roy Disney, Sr.; John Hench; Diane D. Miller; Dick Nunis; Marty Sklar; Card Walker. To learn more about the heraldry located inside Cinderella’s Royal Table, visit the restaurant itself.

There is a penthouse inside Cinderella Castle that was intended to be an apartment for Walt Disney and his family when they were in Florida. After Walt Disney died in 1966, the apartment was never finished. Instead, the penthouse served as the operations area for Vista United Telecommunications (switchboard operators). It now serves as dressing rooms for the entertainers performing in the shows at the Castle Forecourt Stage.

Inside the Castle you'll see the Disney family coat of arms displayed. As you walk through the Castle, you'll see the lovely mosaic murals. These colorful masterpieces are made from over a million pieces of Italian glass in addition to real silver and 14 karat gold pieces. The five 15' by 10' murals tell the "happily ever after" story of Cinderella. On the second floor is the Cinderella's Royal Table restaurant. Calling for Priority Seating is a must for this popular character dining venue.

One of the upper floors includes an unfinished apartment originally constructed for use by the Disney family. The room now serves as a change room for Tinker Bell as she prepares for her nightly flight. The forecourt area of the Castle is home to stage productions as the "Kids of the Kingdom" and Disney characters perform daily. In the back courtyard area, you'll find a fountain with a bronze statue of Cinderella and her mouse and bird friends. Make a wish! The rose gardens in front of the Castle near the water provide a lovely spot to sit and absorb the magic. http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/guides/magickingdom/fantasy.htm

If I remember correctly, there is no hotel, but there are a few shops and restaurants. Nothing too fancy :)

Granted, I haven't been there in a few years... I think the last time I went was 2003-2004.
