Ok, see I am going on vacation next week and just as I feared I will be on my period. I take birth control, ortho tricyclen lo, and I've heard that if you just skip all the green non active pills and start a new pack that your period will go away for that month. Is this true? Has anyone done this and is it ok?

It's fine and will work. Just don't do it every month. It's completely safe, alot of women do it.

yes, it's ok. I was told by a doctor that I could do this cuz of my wedding. He said that as long as it was just once in a while it was fine. But now they have something that only give you a period 4 times a year! So I can't image that it would be a problem.

there are several b.c. pills on the market now that delay your periods for months or even a year (last i had heard) it wont hurt you anymore than taking those pills... only difference is no "dummy" pills... talk to your dr & tell her/him your plan anyway though. Shim will probably tell you the same thing... or try to push the more expensive pills on you...good luck!

I'm not sure how healthy it is for you. But it worked for me. I used to do it in highschool, b/c I hated my period.

I used to do it for months at a time and I'm still healthy and alive.

Its not good for your body to be controlled like that. You should take them as there are prescribed.Your going to do more harm to yourself then good.its part of life to get periods, just deal with it and go on.
