A foot is the width of the material which could be any amount of feet in length. A square foot is just that - a foot by a foot, regardless of length of material. For example, if you are buying carpet you need to be aware of costing, as square foot will of course work out a bit more. Hope I have made this simple for you.

Nah, all wrong, well mostly wrong.
My foot is big but is not 12 inches.
My foot aint square cos it has 5 appendages on the end tapering off for better airflow over foot when launching a kick out at enemies. Square foot would be difficult to fit in shoes but maybe the shoe box would fit OK. My foot definitely has all 3 dimensions plus some added features like aroma and texture and movement.

most of the persons have got normal foot, but some have flat foot, giving the appearence of a square
