Amen.
The worse case of deafness it's a person that refuses to hear.
In many cases, if you tell people the thuth, they feel "offended' and not only you get thumbs down but also you could be reported if the asker feels that your answer is not what she/he wanted to hear.
That's why I clearly state in my profile: If you already know the answer to your question, don't ask; if you ask for honest advice... handle it; if you don't want a stranger's opinion about your life, do not post it on the internet.
Good luck

You also have the people who ask about getting back into a relationship, for example, after a divorce...Someone like that may be asking while they KNOW the right thing to do DEEP DOWN. They just need validation of the logic.
Sometimes though, when someone validates the emotional side, then it just fuels a person to keep steering in the wrong direction. A person can't necessarily help that, as it is easier to follow the heart rather than the head.
Yes, you have stupid people who will post something so tacky...mainly to get attention or get others ticked and stirred up. I think for the majority of us, we're trying desperately to separate emotion from logic.

OMG! I totally agree with you. But, it's not everyone. A lot of people are really looking for guidance. The rest of them are looking for someone to agree with them so they can somehow justify their past/present/future actions. They try to relieve the guilt, maybe. It's mostly the younger crown that still know right from wrong, but sometimes it just feels good for them to do the wrong. If you have to ask other people questions like this-you already know the answer before hand. You're just looking for justification.

HAHA.... I am guessing because half of them are 14 and the other half just wants someone to agree. I mean how many people repeat the same question 100 times until they get the answer they want!! 100 people tell them no and 1 tells them yes- and they go with the one.
I also love that if you ask about your baby's daddy and weddings you get a tons of answers.... but if you ask anything that requires real thought, research or craft- you get NO answers! LOL

Because feeling justified for a wrong doing somehow makes a person feel better (for the moment). However, if they are posting something bad they did, they already know its wrong and the guilt sticks.
I guess they best answer the one that makes them feel good - I know what you mean...Ive seen this too

denial ain't just a river in egypt?
Most are women in here and that confirms the age old description of the female psyche.
They are never wrong and will battle you to the death until you admit they are right. Facts are irrelevant.

People look to ease their guilty consciences, it's how they sleep at night. They should make a separate section for those who are just looking to justify bad behavior, the 'tell me what I wanna hear' section, maybe?
