Whether you are married, dating, almost married, or even had someone in the past, how did you meet that person.
My wife and I met......no surprises here, LOL, on Yahoo...years ago when they had user created chatrooms. I at the time was a "regular" chatter LOL, and she was just dropping in and the rest is history...not very romantic to some, but it works for me.

I have college and Star Wars (more the latter) to thank for introducing me to my beloved Riverotter7. I was the only one in my group of friends to have a car in college. I was taking two of them plus their roomies to a local concert in the park but I was going to the next town to see "The Empire Strikes Back". The next day I saw them all again and they asked me what I did, when I told them she immediately stood out with her enthusiasm about the Star Wars universe. We talked on it for hours...the others could of cared less. Soon we moved in together as roomies but then I left college before the first quarter to get a job (college bored me.) I was used to working since I was 15. The phone bills got outrageous!! I had to live on peanut butter toast and diet pepsi. Soon she quit college too, moved in with me to go to a campus near me. Now, we just bought a house. The rest is history and it will be 27 years for us in October. Oh how I lover her!!

♥ Me & my fiance have been together for almost 15 months.
♥ We are living together very happily and we are planning a 2008 wedding (although that may be postponed so we can save more money).
♥ Danyell & I met through myspace. :-) We had a mutal friend on our list.
♥ I'd grown up with this girl and came back into contact with her about 1 month before getting with Danyell.
♥ When I first saw her pic, I said to my cousin "thats the girl I'm going to marry."
♥ I hadn't even came out yet. lolz... Had to come out to her then... but waited a little while for everyone else still.
♥ Me & Danyell started talking through messages first, then phone and we started a long distance relationship.
♥ She lived in NJ and I lived in DE (about a 3.5 hour drive). Soon thereafter I jumped in my car and picked her up in NJ and we went to NY to visit the friend that had brought us together. :-)
♥ We had a great time visiting our friend & Niagra Falls and from then on we were inseperable... all night talks, visiting whenever we could...
♥ It was hard and we fell fast, but we knew it was right! And we're still together going strong!

Best Beloved always leaves out the romantic parts.... some of which are how both of us had best friends who looked like each other in High School (uncannily like, it was bizzare); how when we did meet both of our souls went "well there you are, where have you been?"; how we moved in together within two weeks of school starting, and this after my parents had made certain I was in the closet dorm to campus and I move in with Truck to the farthest one away. they were baffled.
Her phone bill was almost 400$, mine was 200$ (had to borrow money from my Grandmother so my parents didn't know) and as soon as I could I moved in with her.
I love her dearly and it will be 27 years in October (She's in the kitchen making peanut butter toast now...grin) and as the word of the song go "I love her more today than yesterday; but not as much as tomorrow".

well in my relationship it really depends who you ask... my bf says at a wedding for one of his friends. which could be true, if I had even known her or gone... he said said that because I think the moment we met, he was helping a friend with her wedding that weekend. So he went to the wedding and then came to my house to hang out with me afterwards... But we actually met on gay.com. Yeah I know cheezy and cornball like... But we met there chatted as friends and it just evolved from there. The moment I met him I knew I would be with him and now there isn't anyone I even look at the same way as him. I love him with my full heart and I'm very thankful that I was looking for friends at the right time. Everything happens for a reason and I'm very glad for that. :)
Edit- By no means would I say we are embarassed... I think he just wanted to say that, so it didn't look like he was having a fling with someone. Which I was fine with. :)

Wow, this takes me back and puts a smile on my face.
Ok, this is kinda of bad!
My girlfriend was the friend of my ex girlfriend, my very first girlfriend.
Anyhow, I had kinda of lost interest in my ex girlfriend and well, she was being ultra clingy. I was being way too nice and she just wouldn't listen when I said it was over. Anyhow, she was like being a total, I don't even know what I still kind of feel bad for her but she just wouldn't let me break up with her!
Well, this is where my girlfriend comes in, LOL!
She took a big interest in this problem between me and the ex. And somehow, someway, ended up on my side. Oh, she had her motives.
So, yes...one day we were debating on just how I could break free of the ex...you know where this is heading...so, she ever so innocently suggest that I move on from her and when the ex sees that I'm with other people she will have no choice but to face that its over...
there we were..together..with the solution and she leaned in and said "you could be with me"
anyhow, well, I was like putty then and we've been together ever since. its been like 5 or 6 yrs!
Wow, I sure am smiling...lol, it still makes me laugh!

I met my husband at a rock club in my city. I didn't have to pay to get in (local celebrity), so I took a friend and his sister to a show for his birthday. My husband was there and my friend introduced us. I knew I was going to marry him right away and I am not the type to think that. As it turns out, my husband and I dated one summer then we parted for personal issues. We both had to sort through some things before we committed. Then, about 8 months later, he came back for me. We've been inseparable since.

My first long-term sweetie, I met at work, it was a large company, several thousand employees at that location. We had to attend mandatory Affirmative Action classes, and I chose the one on Sexual Orientation (big surprise, huh?!). She was also in the class, and we started talking, were friends for about two years before we started dating, and were together for 8 years. We broke up about 8 years ago - gently and with mutual respect - and she is STILL my best friend!

Have been together as a couple for 13 years now.

Awwww I didn't know that's how yall met!!! Cute :-)
Okay so Toni and I were introduced through my straight bestfriend who could not stand my ex girl-friend, so she decided she wanted to play cupid for me. Her and Toni were co-workers and she told me about her in late 2004, but i was still with my ex girlfriend at that time so i wasnt really tryin to hear it. But she was goin on and on about this girl she worked with who was soooo cute and sweet and funny and blah blah blah and i was like um....are u sure u dont want her for yourself there Ms. Straight Girl?? So nothing came of it at first cuz like i said, I was still in my horrible relationship and Toni was in one too. lol!! Then months passed by and here came february 2005....I had FINALLY dumped the psycho chick and was ready to mix and mingle and live the single life woooohoooo!!! Here comes my bestfriend again....hey you kow Toni is single now too rite? LOL. Wow. How convenient. So i finally give in, tell my bestfrind to give her my cell number, she texts me the next morning with (and i quote).... "Why is it that we haven't even spoke yet but I feel like you have been on my mind since I was told about you last year?"
And the rest is 2 yrs and 3 months of BEAUTIFUL history :-)
