Yawn... I'm sorry did you ask something?
Seriously... Guilty as charged. :(

YES! The same thing happens with most things in life.
I also think the people that get the most best answers mirror their asker by looking at the details of their inquiry and other Q/As from their profile. Tell people what they want to hear.
What I want to know is: why does anyone care how many points they get or if they get pciked as best answer? I would rather see my answers get the thumbs up or be voted best answer.

Quite the opposite,
I've become much more creative and eloquent in my answer writing approach. Although the overall length of my sentences and paragraphs have been cut down, I can now explain in more detail while using less space, which for me is a breakthrough in writing.
My point of emphasis has become stronger and more persuasive with less words. Which allows me to answer more questions, get more best answers, and earn more credibility and relevance. Each answer is thus a gift to benefit the awareness of the asker, I don't benefit as much, but just knowing I made the world a better place...

Yea, I just don't feel like putting in as much details anymore, and I think I spent energy in the beginning on trying to make the person I was answering feel good, and I don't do that anymore. Well, not as often.

well in a way.. I used to answer every day... once I reached the "unlimited answer" level... I am here maybe once or twice a week... (never on the weekends.. that crowd is a little immature) it's still fun though

I'm tired of always seeing lame answers picked as the best. I read some of the best answers and my jaw just drops open at how un-funny and un-original they are.

Well, as more and more join in the fun, the chances of getting best answer is definitely less. Don't be disheartened.

It depends on my mood and what time of day I am answering the questions.
Sometimes I relish going into detail...other times, I am bored and am just on the computer killing time...
