There's been very little work at my workplace for the past two months, and it's driving me crazy. I can't imagine having that little to do for another four months, not to mention the financial crisis that six months of underwork would put me into! If you're lucky and your job is salaried, it might not be as stressful a situation for you, but I started looking for additional/ alternative sources of income after one month of downtime.

last year I was laid off and was out of work for about 8 months and it was awful. Looking for a job is the worst job in the world and doesn't pay very well.
So I am glad I am at work.
(actually I would rather be home but that doesn't pay at all)

6 months is a long time without a paycheck! perhaps you can find a job that allow you to do this while there! but, like they say, a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work!

Honestly, I would rather be sitting on top of a 15,000+ foot high mountaintop where it is cooler and the scenery is awesome. Most important, there will be no screaming family members or bosses near by, just nature at its most majestic.

I feel you... as much as we complain about getting up and hating our boss... I remember when I was out of work (for almost 8 months) ... I hated it and begged for almost any job.

I know what you mean, I like to do something always, that's why I am on the computer. I don't have a job. Do you still get paid?

i have been in that same situation for over 1 year, it sucks to sit here day after day waiting for 5pm to come, but I seem to find things to amuse myself..

I like not working, myself. there is nothing like knowing that for the rest of one's life there is no reason to ever go back to work -- unless one wants to.
