The problem comes with the US version of democracy...that comes with many many stipulations and add ons that quite frankly are designed to benefit US corporations and criminals (is there any difference). It comes with this hollow word called "free trade" its not free at all......... free trade means the US gets to sack thousands of US factory workers and move their production base to Asia, where the brand name gear is made for a bowl of rice a day.
Free trade means the US gets to export its home made products and resources, but reciprocal arrangements are blocked!!!......some of the other add ons that come with the US form of democracy are the freedom to sell harmful drugs, booze, porn, and alternative lifestyles. The Middle east is largely free from all that western crap and they want to keep it that way, thier worth is derived from the sales of oil, so they have little use for so called free markets where anything goes. The US form of democracy is one where the little people are despised and sent off to war to make more gold for their dictator Herr Bush.........Just research the last two elections and see what form of democracy the US has.......the Diebold voting machines are pure bullshet!!!!.......the Florida recounts that wiped thousands of black voters off the roles........what the hell kind of democracy is that???.......Arabs dont want that ,they dont need that, therefore they despise the systems that give so much freedom to such a small criminal base.
Bush is about money, profit and breaking as many laws as he can while he's in power, he doesnt give a stuff, but his day is coming, and the only reason he gets away with it all is because people have a false idea of what democracy is.....frinstance millions around the world and all over the US said no to the Iraq invasion, Herr Bush thought they were just a focus group and went to war anyway, thats not democracy, thats Hitler revisited.

I examine maximum of your question yet I appeared to agree so i did no longer difficulty to verify something I purely desire that it did no longer take a terrible turn someplace yet you're completely genuine the only clarification for Israel being the only democracy is using the fact something of the midsection east is ruled by ability of sharriel regulation that's a damaging element many human beings blame Israel for "killing harmless human beings (in spite of the actuality that this is purely collateral harm so as to kill terrorists that are hiding at the back of those human beings) and that "this is a apartheid even inspite of the incontrovertible fact that the non radical israeli arabs who're christian and muslim arabs with israeli citizenships and comprehensive rights could lots truly be under Israeli administration. the reason many human beings hate Israel is using the fact they do exactly no longer pick to hearken to something in help of the jews. i assumed maximum individuals interior the ecu section have been greater anti israel i'm satisfied that i'm fallacious

Islam itself is a from of tyranny and it must spread it to validate this. Look at what the Turks did to the Christan Armenians genocide. Look at how they kill other types of Muslims for not thinking as they do. The best way to under stand this is to look at what I have told you here and then go to a web site that translates all of what is being said there and news videos as well. Also look at how they treat women and they can not go out side with out their master the husband or fater or brother. You will never hear the drive by media tell any of this so you wil support the war we fight as the Muslims have said before we went there "it is a holy war" It is

the concept of democracy is a european tradition that works well with christian values.

its hard to have democracy in a land where they feel women have no rights and that allah and the quoran supersedes the constitution.

Lasly, when the lands of arabia were given back to the people of the land in the mid 20th century, the western powers installed monarchies which were guaranteed unfathomable wealth...the quid pro quo being that they would be friendly to the west.

congratulations on your question -- one of the best I've seen here.

***
Turkey is a democracy. That the democracy is under threat from an Islamic movement shows that there is something in Islam that a significant portion of the people there find attractive.

***
Islam, of course, preaches that women are less than men and thus do not have equal rights. This certainly appeals to some men who would like to have absolute domination over their wife [beat her if she is disobediant] and control over their children [beat them, too, when they deserve it].

What else does Islam preach?

That Muslims are the Chosen of Allah and his only true followers. Thus, only they can accede to heaven.

The rest of us have seen this ego-centric nonsense before. Muslims inherited it from their Jewish cousins; as did certain Christian sects. [Pretty ironic, eh?]

Hello? Reality time?? Ego-centric "-isms" play to people who feel second class because others have passed them by, usually by significant amounts. Is the economy of Israel and the West more productive than those of most Islamic countries? Quite a lot. More inventive, too.

***
So if your people feel left out and second class economic citizens, if some of your people want to hold others as virtual slaves, and for other good reasons like tribalism not mentioned above, [not to mention that you were indoctrinated into Islam back when you were too young to have enough brains to think for yourself], wouldn't Islam be attractive?

***
Universe is a brutal overlord. Evolution is a part of Universe whether we like it or not. Further, Evolution seems to apply to social groups as well as species.

Here's the nub of the matter -- Evolution and its tool survival will judge between humanity's various social organizations. So far, Islam is losing and by a wide margin -- as you'd expect for a system that keeps at least 1/2 its brains [women] unproductive or less productive.

This doesn't mean Islam isn't attractive to some. And the Evolution imposed sentence for failure is harsh -- death without offspring. Zero future.

***
Hang in there -- the West defeated Soviet Communism by out producing it something like four to one. It turned out to not be a military contest at all, but rather the economic ability to produce a far better and more powerful military. {Alas, America's Democrats and Europe's Liberals all seem to miss this vital point. Increasing the military technology ante is what defeated the Soviets -- they couldn't keep up because their economic system was a comparative failure.}

We're something like seven or ten to one ahead of Islam when you factor out the oil that Islam is sitting on.

Make oil less of a factor via nuclear power [our energy technology and where we have a huge advantage] and watch Islam whither and die.

does this help?

:-)

Because they would have to have a revolution to topple their present governments, cause they're not even going to leave without a fight - and it would have to be the right type of revolution; i.e. not like the Iranian revolution which was hijacked by Islamists. Revolutions are not good for anyone in the short term, so people really REALLY have to be pushed in order to start them (on their own, without outside help - which simply doesn't work)

The Palestinians tried democracy. The fiarly and democratically voted in Hamas and the whole world, espically the Americans, are punishing them for it.

Democracy measn viting what the people want. How can we tell them to be democratic and then punish them when they do.

Hamas may well be linked to terrorists, but democracy DOESN'T mean 'Vote for who you want, as long as we agree with you'.

because democracy would lead to equality among the sexes and that would be against islam. a Democratic country could make decisions without the imans and that would cause them to loose their power. a free society would challenge the reason of the upper echelon and cause people to speak freely. and the main reason is....(drum roll) they are afraid of the responsibilities that come with freedom and the people do not want it! they switch loyalties with the wind and would rather blame others for their problems. they are in a perpetual cycle of violence that they cannot escape from. if the violence were to stop what would be their excuse then for hating? the people, if they truly want democracy, should be as willing to die for it as muhammed because they are one in the same. freedom of religion,speech,assembly..... who is willing to die for these freedoms, not many.

Who said it's the best form of govt. That is what you said most likely you are American and feel that way. Every culture creates their own system. Democracy is largley an American thing. And of course we feel it's the best. But that is not necessarily true. Who are we for instilling values on other cultures who took thousand of years to create.

Who are we exactly for going into someone's house and telling them how to butter their bread.
