Same way we put a man on the Moon and no one else did
Because they don't have the brains or the balls
When the lesser nations of the world can master the art of inter-Lunar space travel, then perhaps they can be considered to be in our league.
Until then, they have no room to criticize their betters...and neither do you!

There is no right or wrong.
It is a difference in culture.
Both systems have pro's and con's.
Nationalized healthcare such as that in the UK can easily be abused which makes it very expensive for the tax payer but at the same time provides that safety net which everyone deserves in the human family.
Private healthcare such as in The USA may provide a better standard of care for those who have the right insurance, and may even provide a better standard of care than is really needed. Although people in the USA have the choice of taking out health insurance or not - that doesn't help those, who through no fault of thier, own cannot afford it.
If you can educate people not to abuse a Nationalized healthcare system then it is by far the best system BUT the culture in the USA is not a caring one - it is a profit making one. Until the realization dawns on people that materialism is not the most important thing in life I'm afraid you are stuck with it old bean.
Best of luck to you if you fall on hard times in the 'best country in the world'.
From a concerned Englishman

Just like the Kyoto Proto call soclist programs take away your rights and the more you rely on the Government to take care of you you have less rights.
Get a job and take care of your self and do not allow Illegals to create a new welfare class so the left can keep people down. Reagan started this. And the deal with America under the leadership of Newt Gingrich took it even farther and Clinton knew it was right so he signed off on it. Now you have Hillary trying to get it back to gain more control over you. just think about it.

umm ... because our health care system is the world leader in research, innovation, and cost effectiveness?
or are you among those who think that economics doesn't matter when it comes to helath care?
food and water are also necessities of life .. and they come before health care on the urgency list.
should we require farmers and food processors to work and provide their products at no profit to the public? How are farmers to be paid a living wage for their often 14 hour days?
Wait -- there's more. You NEED a roof over your head plus sufficient heat and cooling to prevent your death during inclement weather. Shouldn't adequate housing be a right of all people provided by the government?
and shouldn't landlords then be required to provide it at no profit?
get real, lad. Your entire standard of living exists solely because of the profit motive. The human experiment of the two Germanies proved that -- beginning with the same war shattered economy, same langauge, same schooling, same culture, etc. West Germany developed an economy with four times the output per person as East Germany in only two generations. It was so bad that the East German people literally defied their own government and that government's monopoly on the means of applying force [guns].
You may, of course, decide for yourself that conforming to the apparent 'norm' is more important than using your brain. On the other hand, God invented sheep for that ecologic niche.
clear?

It isn't a question about right or wrong, it is a question about what we want. Compared to the other western nations we are conservative, and we want our fancier medical care even if it costs more money. We do offer free healthcare to those who cannot afford it. It isn't as good as those who have medical insurance, it is free if needed. If you have cancer but no insurance you will be treated.

I hope we never do.
The reason why it works for countries, such as Austria, is because they are small. Austria is only about the size of California, with an even smaller population of said state. It doesn't take a genius to do the math and realize to take care of a smaller population is cheaper and more managable. Not to mention, they lead much healthier lifestyles than we do.
They also don't have millions of people standing around with their hands held out. Their poverty level is virtually nonexistent because they're educated and they contribute BACK to the system. We have WAY too many people here with a sense of entitlement for it to EVER work.
Take one look at our welfare and Medicaid system and you'll see how the quality drastically drops because of all the unhealthy lifestyles and fraud you'll be paying for if you vote for one of these socialists with a universal plan.

Because the insurance industry, the medical industry and the pharmaceutical companies have been telling Americans for years that universal health care is some kinda commie plot.
Actually, the real commie plot was public policing, firefighting, schooling, infrastucture and public libraries. The U.S.A. converted to communism a long time ago. They just haven't been told about it yet.
Seriously folks... universal health care is a basic public service acknowledging the fact that all people have the right to be healthy... and have their medical needs met.
Medical care is not a luxury. It's a necessity.

Same reason we're right about everything else in economic policy and they're wrong.
Most of the countries that do things Hillary's way consistently have twice our rate of unemployment and half our rate of growth.
America has the highest living standards in the world. It is the direct result of having a freer economy.

How old are those nations? Let's wait until we are as old as they were when they got it. That way, our population will be as static as theirs.
Our nation is not well matched for socialism. Even if it was not unConstitutional.
Look at the socialized nations which are doing well: Compare their populations to ours.

America "the greatest" country ranks 37th in health care. For sure the US could have the best universal system, but in my honest opinion, really doesn't care.
