It is hard to tell whether the opposition coalition will be 'big' enough to overcome their ego's and unite, and it is also difficult to see whether the population are angry enough about the current government's kleptocratic tendencies. All answers/speculations welcome!

Incumbent president Mwai Kibaki declared on January 26, 2007 his intentions of running for the Presidential seat in the much anticipated 2007 General election,
The ODM-Kenya coalition is expected to field the strongest challenger for Kibaki.
Steadman International released new opinion polls on March 31, 2007. Mwai Kibaki's popularity rose to 51%. Raila Odinga overtook Kalonzo Musyoka, with 17% and 14% of votes respectively [5].

April 2007 survey by International Republican Institute gave Kibaki a popularity of 44.3%, followed by Raila Odinga with 18.7% of votes. Kalonzo Musyoka was third with 15.3% [6].

A poll by Research and Marketing Services (RMS), released on June 12, 2007, gives Kibaki a popularity of 45%. He is followed by Raila Odinga (28%) and Kalonzo Musyoka (14%) [7]. This poll also featured a section on a head-to-head poll with Kibaki against each of the ODM candidates. Both Kalonzo and Raila scored 45%, indicating a dead-tie with Kibaki. The rest of the candidates scored as follows: Najib Balala: 43%, Uhuru Kenyatta: 38%, William Ruto: 38%.
