My wonderful English neighbors have to return to England because her health insurance just decided her cancer is a pre-existing condition. She's been treated for 2 years and all the sudden they won't cover her anymore.

Damn, good neighbors are hard to find. But the most important thing is she gets well.

I remember your other question about how nice your neighbors are. It's ridiculous that after 2 years of treatment, the lady is being refused further cover. Which idiot makes all these rules, then tears them up and starts again? It's adding more stress to your neighbor, which she can well do without, with her illness. I wish the lady all the very best, and hope something good turns up for you all. That's a definite 10 out of 10. Have any of you thought about making the story public, media, etc ? You never know, someone may be able to help. Good luck

Insurance companies are just that, companies and companies tend to be in the business of making money. They do not like to pay for ongoing care. An elderly persons' insurance (that they have paid into all their lives) will suddenly only cover what medicaid doesn't (and not much of that). They should turn this particular group of thieves into the state insurance commission (all states have a regulatory body to investigate complaints about insurance companies). I'm really not sure how to rate this (obviously dying would be the 10) so for you about a 6 (if you were close) and for her an 8 (moving while you are ill-ugh!). Good luck to you all.

It's a 10. This is the Clinton health plan at work. Complete and utter chaos. Insurance companies have no control and they are unconscionable in the way people are treated.

There is no scale to compare with that.
Hope she gets well.
Things happen for a reason.
