Gordon Brown is in portugal, meeting Jose socrates , the portuguese pm. Maybe this is relevant to the madeleine case too?

If Murat is guilty, then that will make me even more convinced that the McCanns had something to do with this, as they quickly denied he had any involvement as soon as he was arrested the first time. They were too quick to defend him in my opinion.

I'd like to think there'll be a solution to this case very soon. At least, it'll allow me to return to civilian life.
But we've been here before. If there are going to be 'swoops', it'll probably be on Murat's friends in Praia da Luz.
The most important item of information in the article is the confirmation that the child (one way or another) is still in Portugal. And it's interesting that the parents have refused to consider this from day one - now they're quoted as agreeing with it.
The connection between Murat and the man in Leicestershire was an interesting discovery made last week and posted by you on here. That may be the 'third party' link they're talking about here.
And there must be something on Murat which has kept him under suspicion for so long with nothing happening. What that is remains to be seen.
Whatever the 'breakthrough' is, it will be spectacular, that's for sure. If it's Murat's mates, it makes you wonder why the cops waited so long to move on them since they'd been in the frame as long as him.
If it's not Murat's mates, then it's a whole new set of characters we haven't come across yet - and probably all of them living in Praia da Luz. Which would be interesting, given it's such a very small community there.
Which, in turn, would mean it's extremely indiscreet of any PJ source to alert them to a dawn raid this week.
Apparently, the PJ aren't quite as rigorously secretive as they let on.
If the Express is to be believed.

At least it's good to know that the police have been very actively pursuing this case and have made progress. One thing puzzles me: if they can confirm that Madeleine is still in Portugal why can't they find her. Where have they got this info from?
Considering the recent discovery of Malenko's links with a guy in Leicester, the involvement of Robert Murat is always a possibility. This really is the strangest and most confusing case since Lord Lucan.

Murat made a statement to reporters, which he later had to apologise for - he said it was the McCanns who were guilty, for leaving their children alone. He also referred to his daughter and said that she sleepwalks and this was one reason for not leaving children unsupervised.
I've always thought it was more likely that Madeleine wandered out of the apartment looking for her parents, than that she was 'snatched from her bed' as we've been constantly hearing. Murat's comment could be an indication of what happened.

Ha Ha Ha LOL Toi-et-moi you may desire to be getting desparate quoting from the previous professional-McCann demons, '24 Horas' and 'The mirror communicate board'... sorry I had to chortle at that one. I placed re-pursuing Murat all the way down to wishful questioning. however i'm nevertheless no longer confident that he does not have links in some way with a pair of the 'Tapas 9'

Maybe Gordy boy has asked the Portuguese PM here to help him spin another line to get his pal off the hook. Would not be surprised WHO they pulled out of the woodwork - lets hope the get th right party responsible and not just make an arrest in panic, and that any arrest leads to Madeleine being returned.

Thanks for the info but I wonder who the net is closing in on. I can't help thinking the McCanns had something to do with it. It would have saved a lot of hassle if the gave the correct story from the start.
