I live in the Philippines and most of the computer owners here are buying pirated installers for their computers. The burned version.I'm planning to install Adobe CS3 on my hp laptop and there's a computer shop here in our place which sells the burned or pirated installer for only 4$ or 200 pesos. What are the risks of installing pirated installers then?

Its not harmful to your laptop, and since you live in the Philippines where evidently they sell pirated software in retail stores, its not going to be harmful to you either.

Hi kababayan! I am from the phil also, actually to be honest there is no harm brought to your computer, but the big risk is on getting caught.. It is illegal to get a pirated copy, and there has been raids going on around manila specially in net cafe's and big business. If you are using it for home use you are safe for NOW but i don't advice using pirated copies for the sole reason that it is against the law.. If money is the issue you can get cheap original copies from ebay. Mabuhay ka :o)

It's not harmful as long as the pirated version of the said program doesn't contain some virus/spyware/malware or what have you.

Probably OK, all depends what it is you installed, but tend to think OK for they were from stores not back of some truck.
