A blog is an online website on whose layout you *may* control (depending upon the sponsoring company). Into the website you may place dated, sequential text entries.
Some sponsors (like blogger.com, for example) allow you to change the dates of the entries so that, an entry made on 6/6/07 appears to have been made on 1/1/51.
Some sponsors also allow you to go back later and edit and/or delete text entries, and/or allow viewers of the blog to make comments on the entries.
Some blog sponsors allow you to control who may view the blog and/or control who may make comments.
You may also add your profile (comments about yourself) and links to other blogs, and other non-comment information...photos, etc.

A blog provides commentary or news on any particular subject. Ex. Food, politics etc. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic.
The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs.

www.xanga.com. It is similar to what some would call an internet diary.

your thoughts and stuff anything you like bascially
in other words it can also mean a place for random
events anything the blog's owner wants he/she can alter
their blog to their liking
