The scriptures teach us that there have been angels visiting this earth for millions of years without authorization. They are the sole reason for the destruction of the face of the earth at least two time that we are aware of: the ice age that took out the dinosaurs, & the flood prior to the time of Genisis 1:1. These fallen angels are often refered to as "the gods". They are the stuff of legends> Check out Greek, Roman, Norse, Eghptian, ect. mythology, & you will find a ton of evidence of the existance of these gods & thier encounters with mankind here upon the earth.

It is said that one would expect that a species posessing the technology necessary for interstellar/interdimensional travel would need a high level of cooperatrion in order to have avoided the pitfalls of deadly technology and weaponry in their tech-revolution, so I'm guessing if they manage to get to us, they would be friendly.
