I am looking for some classic little kid songs to sing to my 1 year old neice.

Classic like wheels on the bus or twinkle twinkle little star.

If you could post the name/lyrics of the songs that would be amazing. Thank you so much.

Try this website. www.mflp.com It's music for little people.
they have Cd's of all the classics and new songs.
Including: I'm a little teapot

I'm a little teapot, short and stout
Here is my handle [one hand on hip], here is my spout [other arm out straight]
When I get all steamed up, hear me shout
Just tip me over and pour me out!
[as song ends, lean over and tip arm out like a spout]

I'm a clever teapot, yes it's true
Here's an example of what I can do
I can change my handle to my spout [switch arm positions and repeat tipping motion]
Just tip me over and pour me out

This isn't a song, but a game that my kids loved when they were very little: Trot, trot.

You sit with your child (niece) on your knees and bounce her(like she's riding a horse) and recite:

Trot, trot to Boston
Trot, trot to Lynn.
Watch out [insert her name here]
or you might fall in!

and as you say the last line, drop her through your knees, making VERY SURE (of course) that you have a good grip on her and don't accidentally drop her on the floor!

As for songs, a good idea might be to go to a kid's store and get some music tapes - that way you'll have the words and music too. My kids loved the Elephant Song people (I can't remember the name of the group - it was one woman and two men who sang many fun songs for children including one about an elephant).

How l wonder what you are!
