I wrote a poem about a break up, it's quite funny and mentions needing space.

I'm growing ... evolving - it's not your fault
(You can't help being a humungous dolt.)
We're just too .... different, can't you see?
(You're an amoeba compared to me.)
I need some space to think things through
(I believe there's a space on the shuttle crew)
Of course I'll miss you. What do you think?
(DON'T DO THAT! Your brain'll shrink)
But if we're honest, we need a break.
(Oooh, you just might, with one more shake)
I'm so upset that it's goodbye.
(For Heaven's sake .... he's gonna cry.)
Leave quickly please, I can't take much more.
(And on your way out .... CLOSE THE DOOR.)

IT'S OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This depends. If it was just a little space a week, maybe not hanging out everyday, then it wouldn't have a negative impact on me. Some people are clingy, some are independant. Both have to comprimise some.
If it was space as in breaking up, well then yeah, that'd have a negative impact on me!

No not really, everyone needs some space every now and then, i know i do. what i mean is going for a walk etc not splitting up or anything like that, i sometimes go to my sisters for a weekend to have time out from kids etc.

If my husband asked me for space he'd get the biggest space he could ever wish for. I'd be off and that's it. I didn't get married to have space. He can go out for the day or night but don't ask me for space.

I would sat I'll build you a rocket so you can blast out of here. J/K I would be concerned about why he felt that way. But I would give him the space he needed it's better than fighting.

Totally negative, if my hubby wanted space after all this time then I would think our marriage was over.

Both, maybe negative on your part because things will never be the same again and its obvious that your parner needs some time to be by himself/herself. Positve because you will both assest things out what's wrong in your relationship

I give him all the space he needs now. It wouldn't make a difference.
