Even though they are lucky to still be in first place right now, I do believe that the Mets will win the NL East, and even make it to the World Series.

They have been ravaged by injuries so far, but they should be getting back almost all of their players. After that, if Delgado can find his stroke and Beltran heats up, the Mets offense will carry the team through some of their poor pitching.

The return of Pedro plus the continued excellent pitching of Maine, Perez, and Sosa(once the last two return from the DL) gives the Mets one of the deepest starting rotations in all of baseball.

The Mets should win the division. The Braves have only one good starter in their rotation right now and Hudson hasn't been that good since the first month of the season. The Phillies have just as bad a starting rotation and even worse bullpen than the Mets so they have no shot. Mets have played poorly for over a month and are still in first place. If they play well they should win the division going away.

It will all depend on the pitching. Eventhough John Maine had
a fantastic 1/2 half can he keep that up. Will Pedro come back to form? You may have faith that the starting pitching
will improve but overall the entire pitching staff needs to improve. I am a Mets fan and how will they perform when it really comes down to crunch time. It is not like last year where the Mets were running away with the division.

the mets MIGHT get the NL east but i don't think they will make it to the world series. i just don't believe their pitching will hold up. the phillies should be closer to them right now, but we had to play them just last week and they took three out of four games so that kind of put us farther back in the race, but we are still a contender. If the Phillies did something with their bull pen hence spend some money for a quality pitcher then this race would be closer than ever but with Myers AND flash out of the pen it's basicially a piece of crap, and our offense can't make up for all of it. there are three pretty good teams in the NL east, and whoever gets the title won't be getting it easily.

GO PHILLIES!!!

No the Braves will win the Division, Andruw will get hot the 2nd half, Pedro will not deliver, Buerhle stayed home. The Mets will finish 3rd in the east.At least thats what I hope happens.

I think that they will be able to hang on to the division and get to the playoffs. Pedro should be coming back soon which will strengthen their pitching rotation. I still think that they are a much better team than the Braves.

No way, the Braves are catching up and the National League is much weaker this year. Way too many hot teams in the AL, though they're doing decent for the NL. Watch out for those Braves though!

I'm trying to have hope and fait that they will, but right now, it really doesnt look like they're going to. At this rate, they might not even hold on and win the NL East.

A lot depends on if Delgado can start warming up and if Pedro can come back and give them something.
