I think the classic watch is the Movado. It is a museum piece.

Why would you want to pay that much money for a watch? Six years ago, my husband bought me an Amatron watch. It's a nice design, black straps, a silver frame and face with silver numbers and a picture of Woodstock and Snoopy. It's small, so it's not too noticable. Other than two battery replacements, I've not had any problems with it.
Similarily, I bought my husband a Timex four years ago-- Black strap, silver face frame, white face with black numbers. Again, no major problems and I got in on sale for $10, about half off.
