Only started living together with my wife after we got married - it was the best thing and made the marriage that more of an event. Without this, I can understand why people see marriage as just a piece of paper as nothing changes after the event.

About 18 months engaged to get to know each other and then marriage. I think it is important for a couple to show commitment to each other. Makes a more stable family especially if children come along.A lot of the problems today arise from youngsters brought up in unstable family circumstances.

Undoubtedly, marriage means (great) commitment.
I'd recommend living with someone for a while in order to learn their preferences ,habits and their way of thinking in general. Besides, if you just live with someone for a period of time your relationship becomes stronger and "mature".
At least that's what I think.

Marriage. But I will say that living together requires a commitment, it's just too easy to walk away.

It doesn't really matter that much to me. I mean they are both essentially the same thing aren't they. All marriage is is a piece of paper. Though I do have to admit I do want a Wedding.

I am married and completly happy,so really being married is not a lot differant from liveing with someone...It just means you have a peice of paper and you take your vows..Ilived with someone for 13yrs and it was a hard and horrible relationship..but thats another story...But this man i am married to we lived together for 2yrs before we got married and it does not feel any differant..
