lib·er·ate (lĭb'ə-rāt')
tr.v., -at·ed, -at·ing, -ates.
1. To set free, as from oppression, confinement, or foreign control.

So, why did they oppose the Iraq liberation?

How come the only thing they want to "liberate" is tax money from my wallet to pay for their welfare programs?

Liberation is based on the word liberty, related to the word liberal, and it is often understood as "to be freed (or change) from not having freedom to having freedom". A major use of the word is the act of the (forcible) removal of unwanted control of an area, person or people by an outside (sometimes military) force

Ah, but you're merely scratching the surface. I've provided a link that I've earmarked which gives a much better definition of what they represent.

Most of these people are not Democrats, they are socialists who now refer to themselves as "progressives". They will create new politically correct words in a heartbeat to disguise themselves and what their true agenda really is.

Now that is what is REALLY scary. That you are asking the question. Stevie Wonder can see how he ruined it and with the blind eye that some ppl have for the republican party is what really concerns us. Now to answer your question. Deregulation Entitlement Lying about the Iraq war Not protecting America from an attack of 3,000 deaths and at least that many injured Telling Polson to continue with the Republican ideology and not maintaining the treasury Spending the surplus Making a national deficit that was more than all the presidents put together Allowing the shadow government to make the rich, richer Allowing Cheney's oil business Halliburton, which changed its name to KBR and also Blackwater, which has changed its name to XE to have to contract in Iraq with no bid Those are just a few.

Well, here's a few examples:
The slaves (back when the GOP was liberal)
Europe and Japan (if you studied history, it was the conservatives who didn't have the guts to stand up to Hitler)
South Korea when the chinese tried to take over.

And it was the liberals that put an end to the Jim crow laws in the South, ended apartheid in South Africa, etc.

It was the conservatives, on the other hand, who supported the Nazis prior to WW2, who refused to pass anti-lynching laws, who defended segregation. It was conservatives who installed dictators like the Shah of Iran, who supported Saddam in the 1980s while he was using chemical weapons on his own people, and who objected when Clinton supported the UN in ending the "ethnic cleansing" in the Balkens in the 1990s.

I could keep listing stuff like this all day--but I think you get the point!

Lets see why they oppose the Iraq liberation. Perhaps it had something to do with the FACT that our leader didn't tell us we went into Iraq to liberate the people, it was that they had "weapons of mass destruction", then when found none upon entering Iraq, changed their rationale, how convenient! Oh and one of the biggest welfare programs ever created, the senior prescription drug program was strongly advocated and signed into law by our "conservative" president. Wake up!

Well, liberals enjoy liberating criminals from our prison systems so they can go back out in society to rape our cattle and kill our women and children.

They also love the liberating effect of empowering terrorists, whom they consider to be freedom fighters. They feel like the "freedom fighters" have the liberty to make car bombs and gun down innocent civilitans as freedom of expression.

They liberate those who chose not to work by stealing from the rest of us and giving our money to the layabouts.

We liberated the United States from England.

We beat the far right wing conservative British Empire with their high taxes and excessive government control over us.

I am tired of paying high taxes for conservatives fake war programs and their other pork belly projects that squander my money.

You seem to labor under the misapprehension that liberal and liberate are somehow connected. They are not.

Liberal: of, favoring, or based upon the principles of liberalism b capitalized : of or constituting a political party advocating or associated with the principles of political liberalism;

The noun for liberate is liberator

You conveniently picked the definition you wanted. Liberal also means: open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded. We did liberate Iraq and it's still a mess.

You defined the wrong word, dude. The premise of your question is that liberal means to liberate, but you didn't define "liberal". To be a liberal has nothing to do with ripping up other people's countries, executing their leaders and telling them to write a certain type of constitution, to have a certain type of economy, etc.

liberal - adjective
1. favorable to progress or reform in political or religious affairs.
2. pertaining to a political party advocating measures of progressive political reform.
3. favorable to or in accord with concepts of maximum individual freedom possible, esp. as guaranteed by law and secured by governmental protection of civil liberties.
4. favoring or permitting freedom of action, esp. with respect to matters of personal belief or expression
5. of or pertaining to representational forms of government rather than aristocracies and monarchies.
6. free from prejudice or bigotry; tolerant
7. open-minded

LIberals do not liberate anything or anyone, in fact, they create more bondage than liberation. Liberals also like to call themselves "progressives", when in fact, they progress nowhere. They preach tolerance, when in reality, they do not tolerate anyone who is not liberal, and really, just want mainstream America to tolerate their lifestyle choices. They claim to be pro choice, yet shun those who choose life. They claim to be generous in giving, (with other peoples money), and want everyone to be equal,(equally poor that is).
