im after buying a new graphics cards for my dell dimension 4700. It's an ATI x1800xt 512mb graphics card. i was wondering if it would be possible to use the new one with the graphics card which was in the machine when i bought it. it's an ati x300 128mb graphics card. wasnt very good one so i needed to upgrade.

Even if you have two x16 PCIe graphics slots in your motherboard, the two different cards would not work in CROSSFIRE mode and definitely NOT in SLI mode because only Nvidia cards work in SLI.

BUT take note that the X1800XT consumes 103 WATTS. Your X300 is just a 33 watter. Be sure your power supply has enough wattage on the +12V RAIL. Otherwise the new card will just give you a BLACK SCREEN.

No, you can't use 2 different cards in the same computer.
Sli is an option, but definitely not with a x300. You will need another x1800 and a sli enabled motherboard to do that.
You can sell the x300 instead :)
And by the way, your English is just fine.

you will need to take your old one out to be able to fit your new one.

unless you have sli but then the cards need to be identical to be able to use sli
