Firstly, just stopping breathing for a short time wouldn't mean you "died", so wouldn't have come back to life. For death to be classed as having occurred, both breathing and heartbeat must have stopped, and the brain ceased to function.
But is it possible to stop breathing for a time, and to be either resuscitated, or spontaneously restarted? Yes. There are drowning victims that that has happened to, and sleep apnea, is where a person may stop breathing for periods while they sleep.
Usually four minutes is considered the outer limits, before irreversible brain damage occurs. However at extremely cold temperatures this time can be extended, and that is sometimes done in medical procedures.

Yes it is possible. However, your body needs the oxygen and you can only do this for about 5-10 minutes before irreversible damage is done. The period can be extended by 10-20 minutes if effective intervention is delivered i.e CPR. Generally speaking, sponatneous rebreathing due to trauma or medical condition is rare.
