...Like him or not... go to Oreilly@foxnews.com and with an open mind look at his immigration law proposal... it's "one" page long...not 400 like the US Congress has and it does offer "real" solutions... check it out...

The trouble with finding solutions to our huge immigration problems is that you rarely hear anybody come up with a comprehensive plan that has looked at all aspects of the problem. And not just recent aspects, you must go back hundreds of years to really evaluate the problem and conclude what to do about it. Instead, all we ever see are "silver bullets" like you suggest. An embargo on Mexican goods? That's somehow going to remove the economic pressures that contribute to the masses wanting to leave the country and find opportunity elsewhere? Pass bills to help their economy? Now you're on the right track but congress ratified the NAFTA treaty and look how many people complain that now companies are moving from the US to Mexico and Canada.
There is no silver bullet folks. I'm a smart guy and as much thought as I've tried to give it over the years, even decades, I can't come up with a workable solution either. What we have to concern ourselves with, is that we don't just listen to the political sound bites you'll here as the elections approach. None of the candidates, I mean none, zip, nada, zero, have proposed a workable solution. They each have told different groups of voters, including you, what they want to hear but I've yet to hear anybody come up with anything workable that we can afford to pay for. But one of them will be elected anyway so we'll be having this discussion again in four years time.

Good question and I understand your concern. I'm British and our government is doing nothing effective to stop our culture and our lives being destroyed by desperate/hopeful/criminal and terrorist immigrants. There will be no real Britain soon. Be grateful you have a big enough country to absorb a lot of immigrants.
I would seriously question 4 million a day though.
But any way, poverty and corruption need to be dealt with so people want to stay where they are, this will never happen because ther people in power don't want it to, in Mexico anyway. They are quite happy to get rid of poorly educated and poorly skilled excess labour. The U.S government needs to do something really radical, like make Mexico the 52nd state and be done with it! I wish I had a good answer for you, but it seems like no-one has or something would be done already.
Just be happy you are not British because we are totally ******.

If we were to encourage American companies to open factories in Mexico, and increase the availability of jobs there, I believe that the problem would subside a bit, but we would still have a problem.
Then there would be those accusing those companies of running sweat shops with slave labor.
I think 4 million a day, though, is a stretch. Mexico would be empty within a couple of months.

I think the idea that we need to "take responsibility" for Mexico's economy to stop illegal immigration is BS. I mean, even take a look at the richest man in the world - what nation does he come from?
If we weren't so damned concerned about the illegal's needs and so-called rights as a people, we wouldn't be in this situation, whether we helped them or not.

I'm all in favor of strict border controls too but I think you may need to recheck your math....
Do you know how many people there are in Mexico? At last count (the 2005 census), there are only 103 million people in Mexico. So lets put it together; at a rate of:
"4 million a day from mexico. 4 million... ...per day."
How many days would it take for everyone in Mexico to move to the Estados Unidos?
Incidentally, does the word, "innumeracy" mean anything to you?

Yes we can secure our border and enforce our immigration laws. We can also go after companies like Tyson Foods that hire the illegals. I don't buy Tyson products. If the American people contacted our Senators and Congressman like we did for the defeat of the amnesty bill, we could solve the problem.

Wow...Four millions per day ... I didn't know so much people go from Mexico to the US.
And to your question - I don't think you could do anything right know. I mean - Mexico's a poor country ,the US - a rich one. Mexicans want to live "normal" lives so they come to the US.
You know ,a country can't be "fixed" for a few days. It'll take a long time ...
But from what you wrote - I wonder ,how much money does the US spend to take back these people....BILLIONS ???

The state of Texas became annexed from the country of Texas. no longer from the country of Mexico Your forgetting Texas gained it truly is independence from Mexico whilst they kicked Santa Anna's butt in 1836.yet whilst we did annex Mexico I say we could constantly turn it right into a great vacationer spot / international waste disposal website, yet we could constantly nonetheless build a great wall on the border in basic terms for the sake of showing our destiny generations that this became a place that no person needed.

well the only way to stom imigration and migration is balanceing the wrold economy that meens that no more rich no more us no more borders a complete distribution of the wrold wealth and rich, thers other facts like weather, waterthet can only be fix by stoping the global warming, the irony of this is that the us has no intentions of reseaching for that and they are angry because the imigration, and the only cause of that is the wrold powers self interest so we all have to collaborate
to stop imigration .
