I was on birthcontrol a couple of months ago. It was the pill kind that you take at the same time every morning. Well, when I told my boyfriend of 3 years that I was on it...he was kinda sad. He is a great guy...and very in love with me..and I am with him. WEll, I was just wondering....why do you think he was sad? My prescription ran out....and he asked if I was still on it....I said "no"..and he is very happy. Do you think maybe...just maybe I insulted him? I dont know...I want to get back on it...but I am not sure what he will think. It is my decision...but again, what to you think made him sad?

Who cares if it made him sad! Do you want a baby??? If you're having sex and you don't want a baby you better start taking those pills again, 'cause all the sad in the world isn't going to help you raise a child. Unless maybe that's why was sad...have you discussed having children?

If he's Catholic, he was probably raised that birth control is bad. You just have to explain to him that there are other benefits from the pill, like regulating your cycles and your hormones, and it's really important to take the pill unless you're actively trying to get pregnant. He should understand this. If not, there's nothing you can do but agree to disagree on this issue. It's your body and you're doing the right thing, he might just need time to adjust.

I think that the best thing to do here is ask him why he was sad...the best thing in a relationship is communication. Sometimes guy's thoughts may fly off in the totally wrong direction. Who knows what might have passed through his mind.

Best thing is to ask him and talk about the matter...tell him why you're on the pill and listen to what he thinks about it and birth control.

Communication is the key to a healthy relationship.

Take care.

Does he want a baby? I'd suggest getting married first if you and him are wanting kids. If he wants to start a family with you, he should be picking out a ring instead of being sad. You should ask him about it since he is the only one that knows.

He probably thinks that you don't trust him but the pill is also used to treat medical problems for some women (myself included).

The only way you are going to find out for sure why he's sad is to ask him.

Ask him. There's really not much else to say. He seemed sad to you when you were on the pill and happy when you weren't. Only he can tell you why. You really just need to trust in him, yourself, and your relationship enough to just ask him.
