I'd like to hear from native Australians about their country. All I know is what I see in movies. What is life like there? What r the people like there? Friendly? Do they keep to themselves? The weather ? Employment/Unemployment? The health care system? What r your ideas on the Iraq war??? To answer all my questions, I guess it has to be someone who is patient. If you'd rather use IM it would probably be easier & quicker or my email is mtinkm@yahoo.com.
Hope to hear from y'all...thanks.

Well I am an Australian and my man is Aboringal.
Life here is great - relaxed, down to earth..
Australians overall enjoy good health and a high standard of living. We value family and the family regulates much of the way we live our day-to-day life.

Because Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere, the seasons are reversed to that of the northern hemisphere. Summer is from December to February, autumn from March to May, winter from June to August, spring from September through to November.

Australia has a comprehensive universal health care system. About two-thirds of Australia's hospitals are public, run by the government. The Medicare scheme offers low-cost health care, free public hospital accommodation, out-patient treatment, and free visits to doctors who charge the government. Residents pay a levy of up to 2.5% of their taxable income to help finance the scheme. Private health insurance for private hospitals and treatment is being increasingly encouraged through tax rebates and other incentives so as to reduce demand on the public system.

Population: Australia reached 20,852,000 persons at 31 December 2006 (released 5 June 2007)

one birth every 1 minute and 56 seconds,
one death every 3 minutes and 59 seconds,
a net gain of one international migrant every 3 minutes and 15 seconds leading to an overall total population increase of one person every 1 minutes and 45 seconds.

Indigenous persons (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander)make up 2.3 % of the population 2006 census.

Unemployment rate is down to 4.3% (May 07)

Hope this helps you somewhat.
