A lot of elbow greese.
What i use id hot water and washing up liquid at first, to give it a good soaking, the washing up liquid helps with the greese, then i use a oven cleaner from cleanezee, the books that come through your door.
I always have a nice clean oven.

When I moved a few months back, I had the same problem with a stove my brother-in-law had left me in the house. I took the oven out and got a new one BUT I also cleaned the other stove and oven with a product called Mean Green-a degreaser. Spray on and let it soak to try to remove some of the stuck on grease and grime. Then if there are still small spots that need touching up, use Easy Off oven cleaner-Fume Free.

I would spray the oven down with oven cleaner. Let it set for a couple of hours. Make sure you have some SOS pads, old rags, and a straight razor. I would then wipe all the oven cleaner out that you can. Then take the SOS pads and scrub till your hearts content. Wipe the oven down again. If you still have grease on it then take the straight razor and start scraping the grease off of the oven with it. Good Luck.

Use mr muscle oven cleaner, dont get it on your walls or flooring though as it burns right through it. Spray it directly onto oven and shelves leave for the recommended time then rinse off. I do my shelves outside so it doesnt damage anything in the home, it is that stong that it took the colouring out of the concrete path in my garden !!!

Fairy Power Spray does the job for mine- spray and leave for a while and then wipe out with hot water- i always put my shelves in the dishwasher then scrub them with a scourer when the wash has finished and they are still hot- all the muck then flies off. Cleaning your oven regularly is the key though.

You in the UK? If so , I'll let you into a secret!! There is a company who has little men in little vans who drive up to your house, dismantle your oven, clean it, and put it all back together for about £50.00!! I consider it well worth the money once a year!! It comes out like new!!
Mail me if you want more details!
