Without the oil Arab nations give USA, wouldn't USA be a third world country?
True America has the best army/services etc, but without oil the army cannot operate, the luxury cars are useless etc.

That’s all ifs & buts, the bottom line is which country uses the most oil in the world?
mckenziecalhou
I think you need to re-read the question
Oil the West developed and then helped the native people take charge of?
Yeah they did that for free(!) They charged a huge amount, they couldn’t take it at that time because their would have been a uproar.
The same people who sided with Hitler in WW II?

That makes no sense, Hitler was a devout Christian. That was a huge war caused by Christians.
The same people who dance in the streets when thousands of our people die?
Maybe they celebrate because they are allowed into the streets, Usa but a curfew on the Iraqis. When 9/11 happened CNN showed muslims celebrating, but then CNN got fined because that clip was 2 years old.
Do the Muslims owe the U.S.A. for their survival because we buy their oil?
What survival? At the rate the Iraqis are dying Saddam will look like an angel.
You dodged my question completely. Try harder next time or I wont bother with you.

do you honestly believe that.
news flash, diamonds are not rare, the market controls how much is availible on the market.
lets relay that to oil now. first, oil progressively increases in price due to speculation that there will never be as much as there once was. true, but, I'm sure the oil industry would like to portray the problem is far worse than it really is to jack the prices sky high. second, the US has an oil reserve in that would keep the economy afloat long enough to produce an alternative fuel, that's not counting the oil wells that are untapped in the gulf and god no where else. Many wells are probably left untapped thanks to the EPA, and when the world runs out of oil, enviromentally friendly applications to the drilling of oil will be overlooked. third, I garuntee that there are efficient alternative fuels already out there, but not in production becuase there's no profit in the market yet. Even if there are no efficient alternative fuels, i give it six months to a year before a company comes out with an applicable substance because companies around the world will be scrambling to invent and patent their energy source and we all know that competition drives up productions and innovation.
so to answer your question, no.

First of all, it is NOT TRUE. The US has oil, and Russia and Venezuela have oil, and it would be more humane to buy oil from them then from oppressive regimes, such as the one in Saudi-Arabia, which also supports terror.
And even had there been a situation, God forbid... that doesn't give any excuse for any Arab nation to support terror or anything like that.
It is true that Morocco, WHEN RULED BY MOHAMED THE THIRD (who also abolished piracy and slave trade there), was one of the first countries in the world to recognize the independence of the US. But again, that wasn't an excuse for other kings of Morocco, to allow everyone to beat up Jews there. And the US could have survived without this recognition.

Get a life, your third rate countries don't give anything and the American government doesn't purchase anything from them. Private oil companies and brokers buy the oil from different countries and companies throughout the world. The finished product is then sold to the American people.
We owe our freedoms to no-one but ourselves and the guts to stand-up for these freedoms. We don't sit back and let some tin-horn dictator or so-called king run our lives.
BTW Canada and Mexico are the biggest suppliers of oil to the US. The Middle East is way down the list.

We may owe a lot of industrial advancement to the oil from Arab nations, as well as to the oil from Alaska, the Gulf of Mexico, etc. But we don't owe our freedom to anyone but the Americans who broke from England, and who wrote the Constitution, and who have supported that Constitution since then.

Actually we have tons of oil,we just refuse to drill for it. Besides what would the Arab nations do without the money we send them for their oil? The fact is that thanks to oil many Arab countries are the richest countries on Earth per capita. Unfortunately very little makes it down to the average person because of the fact that they are petty dictatorships. This however is not our doing. But to say that we somehow owe the Arab world for selling us something that they otherwise would have no use for, thanks to the fact that most of them choose to live in the seventh century, well that's just laughable really.

The Arab nations GIVE us nothing. We pay for our oil.
The USA owes our freedom to our patriots. The ones fighting so the rest of us can enjoy our luxury cars.
I find your attitude absolutely uncalled for, overbearing and rude. You probably should not bother with me.

without arab oil, america would be using american ethanol as a primary fuel source.
the only reason we don't already is because the oil companies financially back politicians. once elected, these politicians owe favors to the oil companies. those favors heavily involve the petroleum industry. brazilians have already realized this, and as a result, 90% of their new vehicles run on brazilian ethanol.

Absolutely not. Prior to the discovery of purchasing oil from other countries, we were drilling for our own oil across this country, and we still have it. You could not possibly be serious.
