First of all, how old is he? If he is still a child, it is not abnormal for a child to believe such things. Later he will learn the truth himself. But if he is an adult(or at least high school student), there is a problem. In this case,if i were you,i would buy or rent a Superman DVD and watch it in his house by commenting that Superman is way different than the other people and he can not be living in our world. But don't try to make fun of him or don't say disruptive words.

Secondly, Superman is not a man made "film" character. He originated in the 1932, Action Comics #1.
