He has 751 Home Runs right now and 17 for the year. Also he has 2902 hits. He has told the media he intends to pursue the 3,000 hit record. With all this in mind, do you think he can reach 800? If so, elaborate

I don't want to hear anything about steroids. That topic has been done to death. This is all about pure numbers, stats, and history which is why baseball is so awesome in the first place.

I believe he could, but only if he left the Giants and went to the A. L. and became a DH. I don't think he can hit too many more homers & play the outfield at the same time anymore.
BTW: He's one of my 3 favorite players.
: )

I think he will achieve 3000 hits, not 800 HRs, but not as a SF Giant...I say he leaves the Giants after this year (probably due to contract buyout so the Giants can move on), goes to the AL (most likely Oakland, since he would prefer to stay in the Bay Area), and gets his 3000 hits and walks away from the game

No. He's got 2902* hits and 751 * home runs. Do a little bit of quick math 2902/751= 3.864 hits per home -run
Extrapolate those numbers out & assuming a steady rate
Gives us 98/3.864= 25.36 hrs or
3000 * hits & 776* home runs

Well lets start by tripling the 17 HR's if he is coming back to play next year. that would take him to 802. I think its possible but he would need to be a DH somewhere to get this done I feel with his injuries like that knees.

I think it is more likely he could get 3000 hits before he gets to 800HR's. He can still hit the ball well when healthy so both numbers are in reach and I feel like he is doing this to make it harder for guys like AROD to ever break this record.

Not only can he he will, look for him to hit #800 in Pinstripes,BB wants so badly for the Ring that has avoided him his whole Career.I believe the Yankees are the only team that he can accomplish this with, and George will oblige him with as much money he wants.

No. He's old, his knees are weak, he's a liability in the field, he divides fans up over the issue I can't talk about. After he inevitably breaks the record, he will have no more reason to play. Even if he plays DH in the American League, nobody wants to pay him what he demands. He's done after he breaks the record.

No I do not. He is getting up in age, and his knees in the shape that are, I do not think he will be playing much longer. It would be nice to see if he could reach 800. But I do not see it happening.

Barry Bonds will hit 900 if He wants to. But Yes, 800 is the # He told Me He would retire when He reaches. All those People who criticize Barry, are the same jealous People who 'love to hate'. They ridicule, judge and label everything. Then go to church on Sunday. You know who They are. There a dime a dozen. The Hypocrites of the world !!! Bonds one of, if not the greatest ever.
