How do you swap between #1 and #2 wii remotes?

This might sound stupid, but I have 2 wii remotes. Ones mine and ones my brothers. At the moment my wii remote is #1 and therefore I get almost complete control over the game, how do I change it so that my brother can play his game with his remote (so that means his remote has to become #1)?

You can turn off remotes by pressing the home key and going into the remotes menu.

Change the cables at the back of the tv oh I forgot they are remotes oops sorry
