New wonders of the world VS. original 7 wonders of the world.?

Question

What do you guys think of the new 7 wonders of the world as compared to the old? I think these are the old... :
- Pyramids in Egypt
- Taj Mahal in India
- Great Barrier Reef in Australia
- Great Wall in China
- The Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy
- Statue Of Liberty in America
- Eiffel Tower in France
and here's the NEW 7 wonders :
- Chichén Itzá in Mexico
- Christ Redeemer in Brazil
- Great Wall in China
- Machu Picchu in Peru
- Petra in Jordan
- The Roman Colloseum in Italy
- Taj Mahal in India
personally i have no clue on Petra and Christ Redeemer. i really have no idea WHAT they are, except from photos seen in the news. I think Machu Picchu, Taj Mahal and the Great Wall deserve their titles most. SOmehow, am a little disappointed that The Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Eiffel Tower, my personal favourites, didn't make the cut. *sigh...* what do YOU think??

P.S : correct me if im wrong on any of the abovementioned wonders. (=

Yeah, I think the same; I don't see anything special about the Christ Redeemer, but then the Great Barrier Ref in Australia? :/ ...I think you cannot just please everyone, huh? :).
I vote for the Eiffel Tower, Great Wall in China, Taj Mahal , Machupicchu, the Pyramids, The Roman Colloseum ( what a great building ) and Stonehenge.
Oh, the Statue of Liberty wasn't among the 7 wonders of the acient world..I just look up; but it looks like it could have been :P...

many are no longer standing (and haven't for millennia) which is one of the reasons a new list was suggested from what I understand. (I saw a History Channel documentary on them so I know that site is accurate.)

I think lists made in modern times weren't really official which was why there was confusion over what they were. (I was a little confused anyway - lol, but never really looked to much into it.)

I agree about The Leaning Tower of Pisa but not the Eiffel Tower (it was built for a World Fair, nothing real inspiring there).

How in the hec Pyramids of Giza didn't make it this time? That's crazy. They should put in Pyramid in there anyways for new list. It should have been awarded some type of waver. This is like people forgetting to vote for Kobe Bryant for all star team.

Great Wall of China, Pyramids of Giza and Taj Mahal should be made permanent.

I'm disappointed the pyramids weren't included. Shocking.

The statue of Liberty is not one of the old or new seven wonders of the world.
I didn't agree with all the new ones, I thought the Acropolis should have been chosen and I don't like the Christ redeemer statue at all, but still, it was nice to see a programme about historical places and monuments in amongst the soaps and reality shows for a change
