it took me a minute to figure out what the first answerer was talking about...
i mean SEPARATISM, not segregation.
separatism- should we stay out of other countries' affairs?

We have as a nation involved ourselves in the troubles of the world in a manner and scope never before seen in human history since WWII. Prior to that we pretty much were separate with a few exceptions,and better off for it. Since then we have involved ourselves in WWII where we sacrificed thousands of our finest young men to help save the Europeans from the monster they created,we even helped them rebuild the whole mess afterward. At this point I believe we should have simply fought off the Japanese and let Hitler know he could have Europe if he could take it,then set up a way for Jewish refugees to get out and other than that avoided the entire conflict. It would have made it much easier to defeat the Japanese,and afterwards we could have tooled up sufficiently to assure Hitler would have stayed in Europe.
We have really gained nothing for our help to others anyway, we do more in this world financially to help others than all of Europe combined and we're hated for it apparently. No matter how much we do it's never really enough. We have made mistakes to be sure,not to mention the times we have been treated like thugs for trying to clean up the messes created by others,like in Vietnam. We didn't start that mess it started before we ever got there,we just made some massive blunders in trying to clean it up.
So yes I think it would be best if we just stepped out of the world stage,get out of the UN and tell them to put their headquarters somewhere else,avoid any contact with other countries other than business,and when they create the next massive war and call for our help remind them that every time we help them they spit in our faces for our trouble,and simply tell them sorry looks like it sucks to be you!

BAD IDEA. that will only lead to higher risks of teerrorism and the reality of the failure of Bush and his Stupid administration fighting this so -called "terrorism" as an excuse to get oil from the Middle East. It's like individuals raging war on countries, rather than countries raging war against countries.. it's impossible to fight one individual at a time.

Are we not already there? I applied for a scholarship when I went to college and got denied cause it was for blacks only. What do you call that?
