I recently bought a portable air conditioner for my room and after I plugged it into my wall I noticed that my cable modem doesn't work anymore. After trying to figure out why it stopped working I came to realize that my problem was a power management problem. I found out that when I have my portable a/c running my cable modem doesnt work but when the a/c isnt running the modem works. The problem is that I cannot connect my modem to another power outlet since it is too far away in the room so it won't reach my computer. My question is that is there something I can use or do to support both power supplies my portable a/c as well as my cable modem and have them both working at the same time???

Forgot to add that I can't plug the portable a/c somewhere else because it has a tube that connects to the window to vent out the hot air. So both my portable a/c and cable modem are pretty much stuck where they are and cant be moved to another power source.

Other than extension cord and another outlet, there's really nothing you can do except calling in a professional electrician and explain to him the problem.
