I've heard that birth control pills can help clear acne. That's not the only reason I want to go on it, but it's an added bonus because I've been trying to treat my acne for a while. What I would like to know is: what birth control pill helped clear your acne?

Right now I'm using Ovcon 50 but the thing that truly helped clear up my acne was taking prenatal vitamins although I've never been pregnant. I've been taking them every day for 7 years and have had good success with them. I checked with my dr to make sure it was safe for me to do and she said that it was safe for me to do. She also told me that other non-pregnant patients also take prenatal vitamins.

I also found out from the pharmacist at my local Wal-Mart (that's where I buy mine at) that prenatal vitamins are the best vitamins for a woman to take because of all the things it has in it that we need. I buy mine over the counter at my local Wal-Mart. You can find them in other big drug stores like Target and also, at some health food stores and also at The Vitamin Shoppe (you can order online too if there isn't a store in your local area).

First, taking birth control wont treat/cure ur acne. If u have problems use Proactive, it really works.

Second, if u want birth control, consult ur M.D. to determine what u need. Also research the different ways the Pill works. Some prevent a fertalized egg from implanting, some delay ovulation...

My ldl cholesterol went sky-excessive. Every doctor i've been to says that is not viable. However, the warnings do say that heart stipulations will also be affected, specially in smokers (i am not a smoker). Whilst I used to be on the capsule, I transformed my weight loss program and exercise habits, and the cholesterol persevered to move up each yr (for years). As quickly as I obtained off of it, my ldl cholesterol went back off. Identical to that. I was on the capsule for 10 years. I even have a friend who took the capsule for twenty years and not using a wreck. She had a pulmonary embolism, which almost killed her. Her medical professionals (a few unique ones saw her, with several exclusive specialties, as she was a case study at the same time within the clinic getting better for the reason that it's so infrequent to are living by way of this) all have concluded that the capsule induced this to happen to her. I have turn out to be satisfied that the tablet just isn't an choice for me, anymore. I feel it is damaging, and i'd not go on it again.

Yasmin is the name of the pill. I battled with acne a long time, i used a lot of lotions i saw on TV and i want to cosmetic a lot, no use. Then i went to see a dermatologist, he recommended me a 1month treatment with a light antibiotic, 2 creams i should apply on my face and Yasmin as birth control pills. I saw my gynecologist too and he said Yasmin are good against acne, and they are not so concentrated so they are ideal for a young woman. I have no zits and my face is perfect now!

I am currently using Ortho Novum 35. I have tried several different types and had trouble with discomfort from them. I was also cautioned against using the generic version of BC if you are sensitive to hormone containing BC. For some reason it makes a difference. I was told to use the name brand or something like Ortho Low. It contains a lower dose of hormones. In the generic sometimes the inert ingredients can effect how your body absorbs the active ingredients....hence the breast tenderness in hyper drive....lol Look around and try some until you find one you are comfortable with.

your doctor that prescribes you the pills will be able to give you the kind that help with acne. but be warned not all acne is created equal, and maybe the reason why you get acne is not what is cured by the pills.

I'm actually on the patch. I used to have terrible acne on my forehead and back when I was 14. When I was 15, my mom put me on Ortho Evra. The once-weekly changeout is preferable to an everyday thing, since I'm terribly absent-minded. ^^; And I haven't had too many problems in those areas since then.

Now I get acne only around my mouth and chin. >_> Go figure.

Birth Control treats everyone differently. What may work for me may not work for you so i suggest that you that to your doctor and if it doesn't work you can try something else. Personally I am on Otho tri lo and I have no negative side affectives and my face is clear. But like I said it depends on the person.
