Do you believe it would have an effect on how they performed their "jobs"?

Well, the Congress certainly shouldn't be in charge of their OWN salary increases.

Did you know that the Congress has to go through the motions and hold a special vote to NOT get their raise each year? I think they're at a 4% raise per year... somewhere around $160,000 to be a Congressman; $180,000 to be a Senator.

You would think the mere fact of having to be elected would affect how they performed their jobs... but apparently it doesn't matter.

YES!!! Also, since there public servants, their income and expenses should be open for public view on a daily basis.

i think they make too much. we should cut all their salaries down to the national average, and then see what they do to raise the income level of us all. higher avg. higher pay for them. that's an incentive

hell yes. and it should be on an individual basis for their term not a permanent one for all of them.
