You can donate blood every 56 days if you are healthy and within the normal age limits.
That works out to approximately 6 times a year.

I just donated for the 7th time this year. This can only happen if your 1st donation is in early January. My dates were: 1/8, 3/5, 5/2, 6/27, 8/27, 10/22 and 12/22. There are at least 56 days between each of these donations. My usual umber of donations is 5-6. Doubt I ll do 7 again.

as many as you wish! but twice a year is ok... why not go give blood for platelets? only then can you be sure that the blood you donate WILL BE USED! sometimes, they throw the blood they don't need... you don't believe me? i'm a med student, i should now... cause they don't wanna keep it for a long time and sometimes they don't send it somewhere else.
reason: the blood cells live only for 2 months in our body and then new are created. so if you give blood and it isn't used for 2 months it is thrown away... with platelet donation you can be sure that you will help ppl. there are hospitals that always need to find platelets to stop bleeding etc...
what they'll do is to take some blood from you, they'll centrifugalize it, take the plateles, and put the rest blood inside you again. nothing to worry about, common prosess... it lasts a bit longer than just donating blood.

The real answer is that the answer to your question can be very subjective. My local collector (Hoxworth) allows me to donate every couple of months, typically they allow 1 pt every two months (6-8 weeks). At each interval they should check your hematocrit levels to deterine if you have enough blood to donate - this tends to be more of a concern with females with regular cycles than with men. If you eat healthy, take a multivitamin and have a genuine concern for your fellow man I urge you to donate as often as you are allowed. Even though they tell you that your 1 pt can save up to three people, it is more likely that a single patient will require up to 10 pints to keep them alive... Half of those will die, but the other half would have no chance without help.

Anyone who is in good health, is at least 17 years old, and weighs at least 110 pounds may donate blood every 56
days.
After donating blood, you replace these red blood cells within 3 to 4 weeks. It takes eight weeks to restore the iron
lost after donating.

It depends on how much blood you have. I donate blood on a yearly basis. Some people can't do that because the level of blood does not rise quickly. Food is the main effect. Some types of food increase your blood cells so your blood increases quickly. It also depends how much blood you donate. Once, I went for my annual blood donation and they said that they can only take a little, because my blood hasen't risen much. It all depends on what you eat.

Red Cross says once every twelve weeks is the optimum, so that's 52/12 = about four times a year. That's what I do, and I've just been cleared to continue donating, even though I'm 71. Proud of that.

If u r an Indian i do no longer propose donation of blood, different than while there's a desire from one among your friends and kin. yet to no longer donate to blood banks. i do no longer know something approximately different international locations and consequently no comments. as quickly as a year is adequate on a universal observe. in no way donate blood to hospitals, nursing residences as they sell it to sufferers and recuperate extensive a number of money. If the sufferers are in ICUs, this could take place greater. They misuse the blood by ability of transfusing the blood to different sufferers as u r no longer allowed to ICUs. The medical team and para medical team of all the hospitals and nursing residences each the place are the government of those dwelling Hells on earth. they're the dirtiest human beings on earth. it truly is my very own journey.
