DSL is a type of high-speed Internet. It's considerably faster than dial-up and definitely fast enough to download movies. Typically DSL is slower than cable, and DSL speeds may vary considerably according to price (I've seen DSL as slow as 512kbps and around $20 to $30, while Comcast cable is minimum 4mbps, but $40+ --- about 8 times faster; however, 512kbps is about 8 times faster than 56k dial-up). Just make sure to check the speeds. The ISP should recommend certain packages if you'd like to download full movies.

DSL
(Digital Subscriber Line)
comes under Highspeed or Broadband Internet connection but its rather old ADSL is norm (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line)
Both uses the good old copper wire (Telephone Line) to your house to pump more stuff to you!
YES you can download movies & mpeg with a broadband connection.
Hope that make some sence!

DSL is high speed internet delivered over the telephone line. Cable internet is usually, but not always, faster than DSL. Either cable or DSL will work, but if you're going to be downloading movies, get the fastest connection you can.
