yes you can browse different locations for chess boards. Usually though they are made of glass or wood and are more than what you need. Check them out at Wal-Mart.com for cheap plastic boards.

You can find a set once in a while in a pawn shop, but you'll usually pay a premium for them selling it. You'd be best off checking yard sales and flea markets for the best prices. Want ads allow you to place "wanted ads" and if there's a particular kind you're looking for you can ask. I have a few sets now and of all of them I like the ones I find while traveling the best since they remind me of my vacation as well as providing entertainment.

If someone has pawned one..and if they did I would hope it would be complete.

There are some pricey sets out there so you might find a really good one in a pawn shop.

I've heard that if you look hard enough and long enough, you can buy 'anything' in a pawn shop (even a coffin). It just depends on what the customers have brought in and defaulted on.
