The very first answer on top is wrong. The time period indicated there is the time it takes the moon to complete one revolution in respect to the stars. But because the question is such that the time from sunrise to sunrise is of interest, we have to take the value of the mean period of the lunar cycle of 29 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes and 3 seconds.
Because the moon revolves in such a way that always the same side is facing earth, we can clearly see the point of sunrise at a certain crater. Then 29.5 days later we can see again the sun reaching the same point at lunar sunrise. So it's easy to prove that the first answer is wrong.

Every 29 days 12 hours 44 minutes 3 seconds. The phase of the moon is described by the 'dawning' or 'setting' of the Sun from 'our' point of view. The 'terminator' or shadow that is formed by the moon over itself (just like Earth's day and night) is where the Sun is either rising (crescent moons) or setting (waxing moons). The moon is in tidal lock with the Earth so it's orbit is synchronous so it takes as much to do one turn over it's axis as it takes to do one turn around Earth, hence the Lunar day of about 29 days.
I corrected the figures... sorry, I got a bit confused with my tables. . .

Depends where you are on the moon...The sun shines on the moon for most of the time to some degree. Check your calendar to see what moon we have each night and plot where in the moon you are thinking of in comparison with what part of the moon is in the sun at any one time and you will have your answer.
Best wishes, Mike.

The synodic period of the Moon is 29.5 days, which means there is s sunrise every 29.5 days. Without proper filtering you would see a sunrise on the Moon only once.
