Philippine movies these days?

there are a handful of good actors and actresses in the Philippines, much less excellent ones. even the more famous ones tend to be type-casted or can't seem to know how to make their characters distinct from other characters they've played. it seems like the character is mostly based on the actor, not the other way around.
there is a serious need to revolutionize the type of stories the movies tell. sometimes, movies are made just to cash in on the popularity of an actor/actress. i find this very embarassing, as if we have no pride in our abilities to make movies. it seems like an awful waste of talent and experience.
it's rare to see a movie that doesn't follow the usual type of story and have the usual types of characters. it's rare to see a really good and stimulating movie nowadays.
the ordinary filipino appreciates a good movie when they see one, i just hope the philippines movie makers realize this.

I have been watching some old American films lately, and the acting, props and dialog were terrible.
The funniest ones are the Japanese, these Philippine movies
are coming along, and yes the men are sexy, even if I do not understand what they are saying (who cares).....thank you

Most aren't that great. There of course are some good ones, but most are only moderately interesting at best.
